"I'm confused," mumbled Joshua Reid as he stared out the window of his wife's Subaru. "I thought we liked the name Begich."

"No, you're thinking of his grandad, uncle, cousin and sister," Penelope Shuster replied as she turned down South Kanaga Loop.

Early Saturday morning, Joshua and Penelope embarked on what has become a tradition for them during election season; driving through conservative Eagle River neighborhoods to look at campaign signs.

"We get so inundated with phone calls, texts, online ads and mailers that we get analysis paralysis and feel completely overwhelmed," Penelope said. Then one day, by divine providence, an idea came to them while visiting Joshua's far right uncle in Chugiak.

"We realized that we view the world completely opposite as these people that live in the woods and so we just need vote the opposite of them!"

With the time they've saved by not having to do any actual research, they have been able to pick up new hobbies like frisbee golf and volunteering at Planned Parenthood.

"I've been spreading the word about our tradition in hope in will empower others to follow suit," Joshua said as he slurped down a Raspberry Italian soda with pink whipped cream, soy milk and vanilla chocolate chips at Jitters.

Early voting starts October 21st and runs through November 4th.
