Clive Quincy was driving on Northern Lights Blvd on Monday afternoon when he saw something that would change his life forever. "I had just bought my weekly supply of bacon at Freds and was headed to pick up some more ammo for my assault rifle when I saw the most glorious thing I've ever seen," he said via telephone. "A whole group, must have been twenty of them, just screaming and waving signs for Forrest Dunbar." At this point in the interview, Mr. Quincy began to get emotional so we had to pause so that he could regain his composure...which took about 10 minutes.
He went on to say that he was so moved by the spectacle, he immediately went and changed his registration from Republican to Democrat and cast his vote for Kamala Harris and Forrest Dunbar. "Hell, I even voted 'No' on 2," he continued.
This phenomenon is what's known in political circles as a "change of heart guided by an angel" and is very common but seldom reported.
We reached out to Marc Ding, professor of political science at UAA and he stated that this scenario is becoming more commonplace as savvy politicians put more resources into sign waving at busy intersections while people are flying by trying to get to work.
"If you don't want it to happen to you, you'd better put your head down while you're driving," he said.
