After Voters Say No, Assembly Asks Mom

On Thursday the LaFrance administration unveiled their proposed budget for FY 2025 which included funding for APD vehicle oil changes, new wall clocks for the library employee break rooms and the first phase of a controversial public restroom project.
Last year, voters overwhelmingly voted against what became known as "The Portland Loo" ballot prop and so city leaders have decided to just push it through, hidden in the budget under the "Beautification" section.
Each unit is estimated to cost between $300,000 and $750,000 which includes maintenance, utilities and a union armed guard.
There is a public hearing for the budget scheduled at Loussac Library on Monday morning from 4:00-4:15am.
